Founded in 2009 as a division from Keho Lake Colony, Albion Ridge Colony has quickly established itself as a leader in regenerative agriculture near Picture Butte, Alberta, combining traditional Dariusleut values with innovative farming practices that prioritize soil health and community wellness. Under the guidance of Manager Reuben Wurz and sheep managers James & Daniel Wurz, our 670-head sheep operation serves as the cornerstone of our agricultural enterprises, with our lambs marketed through the Prairie Lamb Co-op and our role as the south collection point for the cooperative. What truly sets us apart is our commitment to regenerative agriculture and food security through Chinook Country Grass-fed, our value-added online business that provides farm-fresh, toxin-free products including grass-fed lamb, beef, free-range chickens, pure honey, and traditional baked goods directly to families seeking wholesome, nutrient-dense food. Our mission extends beyond farming to healing the soil and building resilient food systems, recognizing that true health comes from clean, safe food rather than processed alternatives filled with harmful chemicals and additives. We've also diversified into manufacturing custom aluminum handling and penning systems, demonstrating our commitment to innovation and supporting fellow livestock producers across the region.
