Baker Colony

Located near Etzikom, Alberta, in the County of Forty Mile No. 8, Baker Colony represents the enduring strength of Lehrerleut Hutterite traditions in southern Alberta's fertile agricultural landscape. Established as a daughter colony of the nearby Rosedale Hutterite Colony, we've built our community on the fundamental principles of cooperative farming, shared labor, and sustainable land stewardship that have guided Hutterite colonies for generations. Our strategic location in this productive agricultural region allows us to take full advantage of southern Alberta's excellent growing conditions and proximity to grain handling facilities, while maintaining the close community bonds that define Hutterite life. As part of the Lehrerleut branch, we continue the traditions passed down through centuries of communal living, combining time-honored farming wisdom with modern agricultural techniques and equipment suited to the unique demands of southern Alberta's climate and soil conditions. Our operations contribute to the region's agricultural economy while preserving the cooperative spirit and strong work ethic that make Hutterite communities both self-sufficient and valuable neighbors in rural Alberta.
