Borderland Colony

Borderland Colony is a Lehrerleut Hutterite community situated near Pivot, Alberta, in Cypress County, a wide-open shortgrass prairie region along the Alberta, Saskatchewan border. Founded in 2021 as a division of Rose Glen Colony, Borderland represents one of the newer Hutterite communities in southern Alberta, carrying forward deep-rooted traditions of communal living, faith-based stewardship, and shared agricultural work.

Farming forms the foundation of daily life at Borderland. Colony members manage large-scale crop production suited to the dryland conditions of southeastern Alberta, working the land with a long-term perspective that prioritizes sustainability and responsible stewardship.

A standout enterprise at Borderland is its organic egg production operation. The colony supplies eggs raised under strict organic standards for flock care and feed quality, offering buyers a traceable, prairie-grown product that meets growing consumer demand for certified organic supply.

Complementing the farm operations, Borderland runs colony shops offering custom woodworking and metal fabrication services. Craftsmen build and repair practical products for farms, homes, and local businesses, from custom cabinetry and wood projects to welded repairs and fabrication work, with a focus on durability, functionality, and reliable turnaround.

Together, Borderland's farming roots, organic egg operations, and skilled trades make it a well-rounded community partner along the Alberta–Saskatchewan border.
