Clear Lake Colony

Clear Lake Colony stands as a unique Lehrerleut Hutterite community located in the scenic foothills southeast of Calgary, near Claresholm, Alberta. Our colony represents a successful blend of traditional farming heritage with innovative diversification through our natural spring water enterprise.

Our story began with a remarkable discovery on our 12,000-acre farming operation. In 1979, we purchased a ranch that included a mysterious green valley that remained lush even during the driest seasons. By 1988, when we investigated further with a simple backhoe test, we discovered a natural spring that filled the entire hole with pristine water by morning. This serendipitous find led to the development of our signature bottled water business, featuring 100% alkaline spring water from the foothills of the Canadian Rockies.

Today, we offer premium spring water products including our Essential Line 500ml bottles and 18.9L jugs, providing clean, natural hydration sourced directly from our protected spring. Laboratory testing revealed our water's unique pH of 8, giving it a distinctly refreshing taste that sets it apart from ordinary bottled water.

Beyond our water enterprise, we maintain a diverse agricultural operation across 9,000 acres of cropland, embodying the Hutterite principles of hard work, sustainability, and community cooperation.
