About Mialta Farming Co.
Mialta Farming Co. is a farming colony rooted in the open prairie landscape northeast of Vulcan, in southern Alberta. Established in 1989, the colony has steadily grown its grain and livestock operations, supplying reliable, high-quality food and feed products to neighbouring communities and customers across the region. The colony’s fields are managed with the care and long-term perspective typical of Hutterite agriculture, emphasizing sound crop rotations, efficient use of equipment, and attention to soil health.
Livestock and grain production form the backbone of Mialta’s daily work. Herds and flocks are raised with consistent routines and careful stewardship, while grain and oilseed crops are seeded, tended, and harvested using modern machinery and shared labour. This integrated approach allows the colony to balance crop and animal production, making effective use of land, feed, and facilities throughout the year.
