OK Colony

OK Colony was established in 1934 near Raymond, Alberta, in the fertile agricultural region of southern Alberta that has shaped some of the most productive Hutterite farming operations in western Canada. For over ninety years, the colony has worked the same land with a philosophy that has not changed: farm it well, produce it honestly, and let the quality speak for itself.

The colony operates as a diversified, self-sustaining agricultural enterprise. Grain and field crops form the foundation of the operation, alongside integrated livestock production that reflects the full-cycle farming model Hutterite communities have practised for generations. Every part of the operation supports the next, reducing waste, improving outputs, and maintaining the kind of land stewardship that keeps a farming community productive across generations.

Cold-Pressed Canola Oil and Canola Meal

OK Colony's cold-press canola operation is the centrepiece of what they offer to outside markets. Cold-pressing extracts oil from canola seed without the use of heat or chemical solvents, preserving the natural flavour, colour, and nutritional profile of the oil that high-temperature processing strips away.

The result is a premium canola oil with a clean, light taste and a higher natural quality than commodity-processed alternatives. The canola meal produced as a co-product is a high-protein, high-fibre feed ingredient for livestock and poultry operations looking for a clean, additive-free feed supplement.

Both products come directly from the colony's own canola, grown on their own land, processed on site, and available through Hutterite Marketplace.

Farm Fresh Goods

Beyond canola, OK Colony produces farm-fresh goods rooted in the seasonal rhythms of a working southern Alberta agricultural operation. The colony grows and produces for its own community first, and what comes to market reflects that same standard.

Built on Ninety Years of Progressive Farming

OK Colony has always looked for better ways to farm without abandoning what works. The combination of generational Hutterite agricultural knowledge and a willingness to invest in the right equipment and practices has built a colony that produces at a high level and sells with confidence. Progressive farming is not a marketing phrase here. It is a description of how the colony has operated since 1934.
