About Silver Spring Colony
Silver Spring Colony is a Hutterite farming community located in rural east-central Alberta near Castor and Halkirk. Founded in 2015 as a division of Castor Hutterite Colony, Silver Spring has developed a diverse agricultural operation centred around poultry, eggs, livestock, and food production.
The colony combines traditional Hutterite farming values with organized production systems designed to serve both individual customers and commercial buyers. Its products include whole chickens, raw dog food, and eggs supplied specifically for dog-food production.
Silver Spring Colony’s agricultural operation reflects the strength of community-based farming: food is raised, processed, prepared, and supplied through connected colony enterprises.
