About this product

Garlic is not a background ingredient. In the hands of anyone who actually cooks, it is a foundation. And the quality of the garlic you start with shows up in everything you make with it.

Fresh colony garlic is not the same as the pre-peeled, bleached, imported garlic in a plastic jar from a grocery store. It is a whole, cured bulb with tight papery skin, firm cloves that have not gone soft or sprouted, and a flavour that is sharp and clean raw and deep and rich when cooked.

Summerland Colony grows garlic in their colony garden near Carmangay in Vulcan County, Alberta. Established in 2021 as a daughter colony of Clear Lake Colony, Summerland is building out fresh produce operations to serve nearby towns and customers across Alberta. These bulbs are cured after harvest and available by the pound while the season runs.
