About this product

Every time a trailer hooks up, the fifth wheel skid plate takes the load. It absorbs the impact of coupling, supports the trailer’s kingpin plate, and reduces metal-on-metal friction during turns and movement. Over time, worn or damaged skid plates accelerate wear on the fifth wheel itself, leading to costly repairs and unsafe coupling conditions. Replacing the skid plate regularly is one of the most cost-effective ways to protect your fifth wheel investment.

The Jost Fifth Wheel Skid Plate is engineered to work seamlessly with Jost fifth wheel couplings, one of the most trusted names in commercial trucking and heavy transport worldwide. Jost builds to exacting international standards, and their skid plates are no exception, designed for strength, durability, and consistent performance across demanding road and field conditions.
