Coyote Whole Wheat Wheatlets

Coyote Whole Wheat Wheatlets are a simple, nourishing hot cereal made with the goodness of whole wheat. Produced under the Coyote brand associated with Rockport Colony’s longstanding milling tradition near Magrath, Alberta, Wheatlets are an easy choice for family breakfasts, colony kitchens, food-service programs, and pantry storage.

Each 900 g bag provides a versatile cereal base with no added sugar. Prepare it with milk, then enjoy it plain or customize it with fruit, sweetener, salt, cinnamon, butter, or other favourite toppings.

A 30 g serving provides 14% of the daily fibre value, 4% of the daily iron value, and 1% of the daily calcium value, according to the manufacturer.

Preparation instructions

Stovetop

1. Bring 1 cup of milk to a boil in a saucepan.

2. Slowly add 3 tablespoons, or approximately 30 g, of Whole Wheat Wheatlets while stirring.

3. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

4. Add sugar or a dash of salt to taste, if desired.

5. Add fruit or other toppings. For a thinner cereal, add more milk.

Microwave

1. Combine 30 g of Whole Wheat Wheatlets with 1 cup of milk in a microwave-safe bowl.

2. Add sugar or salt to taste, if desired.

3. Microwave on high for approximately 1 minute, stirring well every 15 seconds until smooth.

4. Use care, as contents may boil over.

5. Add fruit or additional milk as desired.
